Our Commercial Boat Fleet
FPS Pontoon Hire operates a practical fleet of rigid and inflatable commercial support craft for bridge inspections, surveys, safety support, construction access and waterside engineering projects across the UK.
Boat selection is based on the job, waterway, access, personnel, equipment and operating conditions rather than using one craft for every application.
Rigiflex 360 Fleet
FPS operates three Rigiflex 360 rigid boats. These lightweight, robust craft are well suited to bridge inspections, survey access, support work and locations where launch and recovery access is restricted.
The Rigiflex 360 fleet can be matched with suitable interchangeable outboard engines from the FPS engine pool according to the project requirements and approved operating limits.
Rigiflex 400
Our 4 m Rigiflex is configured with a permanently attached Mercury F20EPTL 20 hp outboard, providing a ready-to-deploy larger rigid work boat package for inspection, access and support tasks.
Whaly 360
The Whaly 360 provides another robust rigid-boat option for commercial access, survey and general work boat support. It can be paired with an appropriate engine from the FPS outboard fleet to suit the task and waterway.
Small Inflatable Boat
FPS also operates a small inflatable craft for locations where lightweight transport, restricted launch access or manual handling is particularly important.
Outboard Engine Options
FPS maintains a selection of petrol outboards in different power and shaft configurations. Except for the permanently configured Rigiflex 400 package, engines can be allocated to compatible craft according to the job, craft rating, water conditions and operating requirements.
Operated or Bareboat Hire
Most commercial projects are supplied as operated boat hire with competent FPS personnel. Selected craft may also be available on a bareboat basis where the client has suitable competence, insurance and waterway permissions.
Safety Boat and Work Boat Roles
A boat being used for access or work support is not automatically a dedicated safety boat. Where a project requires dedicated rescue cover, the boat, operator and rescue arrangements are planned specifically for that function.
