Project Overview
FPS Pontoon Hire received a short-notice enquiry from a London-based television production company. They needed a floating platform at Newlyn Harbour in Cornwall the following week.
Two FPS operatives travelled to the South West to install the pontoon and provide on-site support throughout the filming programme.
Three-Day Filming Support
The pontoon supported a three-day filming schedule for a National Geographic Channel production.
During the shoot, FPS personnel remained on site to manoeuvre the pontoon around the harbour, position it for different filming sequences and respond as camera positions changed.
A Bespoke Floating Platform
The production team mounted a water cannon on the pontoon to create simulated rainfall around returning fishing trawlers.
This setup showed how a modular pontoon can provide a stable, movable work area directly on the water for specialist filming tasks.

Short-Notice Production Support
Film and television schedules can change quickly. Because FPS uses modular equipment, experienced operatives and in-house transport, suitable systems can be deployed to production locations across the UK at short notice where availability allows.
Supporting Short-Notice Productions
For a quick turnaround, send the location, filming dates, tide times for harbour sites, equipment to be carried and the number of crew. Heavier kit, such as the water cannon on this shoot, needs its weight and position confirmed so the platform can be set up correctly.
