Project Overview
FPS Pontoon Hire supported a 30-bridge inspection programme in North Lincolnshire for a specialist infrastructure services company.
The works required a mobile over-water access solution that could be moved efficiently between multiple structures while giving inspectors safe access beneath and alongside each bridge.
Mobile Inspection Setup
FPS provided a 5 m × 4 m modular pontoon together with a safety boat and scaffold tower, allowing the access arrangement to be adapted to different bridge geometries and inspection requirements.
The project team typically moved between one and two bridge locations per day, with FPS operatives supporting the setup, positioning and safe operation of the equipment.

Why a Mobile Pontoon Solution?
For multi-structure inspection programmes, a modular system can reduce the need to establish a completely different access method at every location. The same core equipment can be repositioned and adapted as the programme progresses.
FPS supports similar works through our Bridge Inspection Pontoons, Safety Boat Hire and Floating Scaffold Towers.
Project Outcome
The mobile inspection setup provided a practical and repeatable access method across the programme, supporting the inspection team as they moved from structure to structure.
Moving Between Inspection Sites
On multi-site programmes, the pontoon, boat and scaffold tower travel on trailers between structures. Launch points, travel time and daily set-up are planned so the inspection team can make the most of each day.
